Workshop 2 : The AFFI Ph.D. WORKSHOP FOR TUNISIAN STUDENTS

Workshop 2 - The AFFI Ph.D. WORKSHOP FOR TUNISIAN STUDENTS

Under the auspices of AFFI, Ph.D. workshops are organised. Their aim is mentoring doctoral students who are close to finishing their dissertation. The students will present their work in front of senior researchers, who will provide feedback and advice. The goal of the workshop is to expose students to constructive criticism, to promote contact with other students at a similar stage in their careers, and to provide guidance related to future career perspectives. So PhD Student participants will be given the chance to present and discuss their research in the context of an international conference outside of their usual University atmosphere.

Professors in the field will accompany the workshop. They will study all the papers and comment on the content of the presentations. Each participant will have 20 minutes time for the presentation. Another 15 minutes is reserved for discussion and feedback from both the Professors and other participants

Submission :
The PHD students must submit a working paper (20-25 pages) covering their initial findings and conclusions. On the title page, the date of the beginning of the dissertation must be clearly indicated. The submission to the workshop   (and not to the international conference) must also be clearly indicated.
The Workshops will take place during the Conference at which  the Ph.D. students will have the possibility to participate.

Dates:
-  January 31, 2008: deadline for submission of extended abstracts or papers (in French or in English).
Students who have candidated for the Conference can withdraw and submit for the     Workshop.
- January 31, 2009: acceptance or rejection notification.
