Introduction
Over the last few years, the interest of the banking industry has grown in the Internet, leading to the development of comprehensive Electronic Finance and Banking Portals from simple banking or trading web sites. In addition to traditional financial products, these portals offer a great variety of services enabling customers to obtain financial advice from a single source. However, the complexity of these services varies widely among countries and often among banks in the same market.
Currently the academic and business literature concerning the significance of the electronic evolution of financial services on banks' information systems, management of operations, and customer relationship is scarce.
This Special Workshop will gather research papers and case studies representing state of the art core material in the field of eFinance/eBanking/ePayment. The Workshop will enhance participants’ knowledge of the evolving environment and multiple repercussions of electronic remote channels in organizing the banking industry, transforming the internal organization of banks themselves, and promoting a new equilibrium towards an evolving market.
